About the Author
This site is written and maintained by Abdul Quddoos. I've worked in the New York City and New Jersey transportation sector for more than 15 years, across all five boroughs — coordinating wheelchair vans, ambulette service, and NEMT trips for hospitals, dialysis centers, senior facilities, and individual riders and their families. I built this guide because I kept seeing the same handful of companies promoted everywhere online, even when they weren't the right fit for a rider's specific neighborhood or need.

AccessibleRides NYC is an independently run directory of wheelchair accessible transportation companies and public paratransit programs serving New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey. We are not owned by, operated by, or paid by any of the companies listed here.
How Listings Are Put Together
For each company or program listed, we look at: the boroughs, counties, and airports it actually serves; whether it offers NEMT/Medicaid coordination, ambulette, or stretcher transport; stated availability (24/7 vs. limited hours); and any specializations such as bariatric vehicles, long-distance trips, or group/tour vans. Information is drawn from each company's own website and public listings — we encourage riders to confirm pricing, availability, and pickup windows directly before booking.
